One good thing about someone learning sendmail these days is they
will understand how email works. Messing around with m4 and your
sendmail config means you really have to pay attention to the little
stuff. I get spoiled with postfix's easy configuration these days. I
couldn't edit a sendmail config anymore. 

So if it were up to me, I'd go with Postfix. :-)
