has lots of Java, you're not going to be able to check out the project
from Subversion, rewrite it in Python, then check it back in. Same for
style and comments.
There are so many constraints when doing work for other people that
you'll be lucky if you can do things like take the time to learn new
languages on the job. You have to fix something, get something to
market, work well with your other developers, etc. Not to say you
shouldn't think outside of the box with new languages and ideas, just
that having that freedom is often a luxury.
One thing to take note of is that when you drill down on anything
"good", you'll start to see that it's messy.
