[Novalug] Interest in Package Management Presentation?

I think many people could use a refresher on where YUM 3.x is at,
along with RPM 4.6+ with deltas, etc... Especially for those that
haven't kept up with Fedora, CentOS and related developments
(e.g., EPEL). The last thing I want to see is someone have issues
in an interview because they are 6+ years out-of-date when a
45-60 minute dump in a presentation can bring them up-to-speed
with 90% of the changes without having to install and tinker with
everything or dig through old v. new info. Building DPKG and/or RPM
to Debian and Fedora project guidelines/standards would be a great
bonus as well.

But my vote should hold little weight for now, as I'm not likely to
make a meeting in the next few months, let alone be able to present
myself. The new year and residential moves should change that
though.

Subject: [Novalug] Interest in Package Management Presentation?

I've been doing a lot of work in operating system packaging,
specifically RPM packages. Packages can be all-encompassing for
software deployment, adding software, any users, dependencies, and customizations that are needed. Combined with tools like Yum, everything
needed to get software installed on thousands of hosts can be automated with a simple "yum install".

If there's interest, I'd love to present about the topic at a later
date.

Thanks,
-A. Dave
