I find a laptop inadequate in two respects - screen real estate and I still 
need a work area for books and papers. A simple table and a comfortable chair 
gives me enough room for that.

I also have a bookshelf and a printer nearby. Most of the files I work with 
are on two servers in the next room.

I find the biggest use for my laptop is when I need to go off by myself to 
work on a problem without any distractions.
