The funny thing is, they've already implemented the logic for their
e-submission and auditing programs, they're just not allowed to let the
public use it. (Hell, the people who give you turbotax do the same
thing. Will it work in all cases? No--but there's nothing that says that
a one-legged retired veteran railroad worker and oil magnate *has* to
use the simple web interface instead of a CPA.) This is a very different
thing than trying to argue that since "Bob" on the other end of the IRS
line told you that you could deduct $15k for you dog's education that
you should be able to do it.
