[Ma-linux] Oracle-SUN merger : FOSS angle

Apparently US lobbied EU antitrust authority to approve the merger, and 
the FOSS issue was one of important considerations:

I don't quite understand how the FOSS issue weights on this---is it 
because OpenOffice? MySQL? Funny how Oracle owns two of the crown jewels 
of the FOSS.

Also, what do they mean by 'subtle and complex counterarguments'?
