[Ma-linux] Bizarre Browser Behavior

Assembled Wisdom!

A couple of weeks ago neither of my standard browsers, Firefox(sorry!
Iceweasel) or lynx could access a site for which I am responsible,
www.waifllc.org.  I spent 12 hours chivvying the hosting firm, until,
quite suddenly, my access was restored.  NB: everything else worked
fine during this 24 hour period.   When my access was restored, I
shrugged, and apologized to the friends I'd been chivvying.

Now the exact same thing has happened, but with Wikipedia.org.  ! ? ! ?
I point my browser at wikipedia.org, and I get:  
	Iceweasel can't find the server at www.wikipedia.org.
Again:  I can get everything else -- youtube, my site mentioned above,
gmail, political sites . . .    Only wikipedia goes blank on me.

Has this happened to others?  Any suggestion about the problem?  (I've
rebooted; not a help).

I'm running Debian etch.
