I am planning a presentation for a future DCLUG meeting (March?)

Brief Topic Title: How video can used for meeting presentations

Abstract: video-audio recording of meetings, pre-production planning,
post-production processes and distribution.

Greater Detail:

Generically, recorded and edited recordings of meetings and presentations
have the following advantages:

   1. Provide content to persons who could not be present
   2. Creates a reference work for one to view then have better
understanding of content - few persons remember all they have seen or
heard. Background talking, fans and other environmental noise can make
hearing and understanding content in a live presentation a challenge.
   3. A source of feedback to participants that affords them opportunity to
observe and modify their behavior and presentation content
   4. Some presentation content may recorded prior to a presentation and
inserting it into the live presentation thus providing information for
better understanding of concept or relationships
   5. Post Production: After viewing and listening the recorded work one
may draw on footage to insert and improve understanding of presentation
   content
      1. Sequential computer screen displays *without real time waiting* (like
      with a new OS install)
      2. Time laps photography to speed up changes that occur during a
      3. Close image for individuals unable to be close to a monitor or
work operation being show by the presenter when one is t-o-o f-a-r the
      presenter during a live meeting
      4. Voice-over works well to replace content that was not
understandable or absent during the live presentation
      5. Insert images and sounds that could not bring to the presentation
      venue
         1. Images of the main entrance Red Hat Headquarters building
         2. Walking through an electronic communications switching office
         3. Work place in which computers are designed, created and tested
         4. Other examples that you may have

I have a passion for video production and its possibilities. Much of my
experience was with DCTV.org and ArlingtonMedia.org since 2002. Today I am
an independent videographer-producer recording events that include
conferences, users group presentations and entertainment.

If you wish to be part of discussion on the topic or wish to be a program
content participant please contact me at producer at videowashdc.org
