larry, i appreciate your raising these concerns. the shenanigans of large
corporations create a diminished life for many of us.

    best i can tell, comcast is the worst of the worst, so i'll do as much as i
can to avoid their service -- even moving my residence. 

     i need serious bandwidth for the work i plan to do over the next few years,
so my choices are not that many. i need to opt for FIOS, even though i prefer
supporting smaller companies rather than larger ones.
