[Novalug] Stupid cackling speakers - slightly OT

I just unplugged the coax going to the speakers from the computer and 
put the phone on top of the speakers. About 5 minutes later the phone 
did an active sync (work email) and I about jumped out my chair it was 
that loud :-) So the answer is yes, speakers plugged into PC or not, it 
will give static noise.

The power has is a barrel connector/wall wart type. Two prongs on the 
transformer, and then a barrel connector to the speakers.
