Yes cell service, and 'go nuts' I mean static cackles like you've turned
in a bad radio station. Its definitely related to the cell phone making
its connection and doing its thing as I can tell my phone is going to
ring before it does, the speakers cackle a second or so before the first
ring. This does not matter if the speakers are turned up/playing sounds,
they simply need to be 'on.'

These are Altec Lansing speakers, your usual coax cable (shielded) from
PC to speakers, external power supply. It also happens on several others
around the office, the cheapest ones being the worst offenders (crappy
unshielded speaker wire). They are all 'older' models meaning at least
4+ years old, we usually dont expense speakers with new computers and we
just recycle the old ones. Other then the cell phone static issue, its a
good costs savings measure.

And I work in a building with poor cell signal so the phone is always
working hard to get signal. This is for any carrier as we have them all
in here, Verizon and AT/T being the most prevalent but we have Sprint
and Tmobil and some other one I forget.
