Hi Neal,

First off, yes, most of the things you find for RHEL or CentOS are
interchangeable. CentOS mirrors RHEL functionality for the most
part. There are just some enterprise level goodies that aren't the
same, something you aren't likely to miss as you get up to speed.

Here are some links that might help you get started:

http://www.linux.org/lessons/beginner/toc.html (Debian based but a
lot of the command line stuff is portable to RHEL/CentOS)

As far as getting your wireless card working I would read through
this post:

http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/debian-linux-help/60535-wpc54gs-
linksys-howto.html (again Debian based, but pretty easily translated
to RHEL, where you see "apt-get install" do "yum install").

Also to get ndiswrapper for CentOS/RHEL you'll want to add the Dag/
Diers rpm repository.

Instructions:
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/FAQ.php#B4

Yum add on rpm:
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rpmforge-release/ (you'll have to
find the version for you install CentOs5 x86 or x86_64)

And just for direct here are the ndiswrapper rpm's at Dag:
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/dkms-ndiswrapper/

Again, better to get yum up and running correctly to install
ndiswrapper as it will make sure everything you need is also installed.

And you can use "unzip" on the command line to unzip and windows exe
zip file. Run "man unzip" to learn more.

As for books, not sure, but the O'Reilly books are usually pretty good:

Cheers,
David
