OK, I'll fix it so that it will use the old version of require.

Well, only for Emacs, which abandons support for old versions as soon
as a new one is released. XEmacs doesn't do that. Until we make
another release, our policy is to support the 21.4 interfaces as they
are.
We do not intend for you personally to be bound by our policy. If you
do not want to deal with the divergence between your version and
XEmacs CVS implied by our policy, that's our problem of course.
Updating `require' in 21.4 to the 3-argument version used in Emacs and
in 21.5 is up to Vin Shelton who is the 21.4 gatekeeper.
Vin? It's not a terribly invasive change to 21.4, but it will force
upgrades on all ediff users.
