I've been recommending people to stay of that switch because it has
caused problems in the past. From recent posts by Michael Sperber I
get the picture that these older problems are now fixed and that this
switch can now be used. Right?
Although I have been looking in the code at the use of that switch at
occasions I have never understood what it is good for. Not using it
seems to have worked rather well for me over the years. Under what
circumstances does it make a noticeable difference?
