I'm not sure this is a good idea. Is there a reason why we can't be
datarootdir compliant (besides Just Saying No To Drugs)? If not,
shouldn't we flagellate ourselves with the warning until we are?
I did the work required to be compliant, but I couldn't get it to work
as advertised in the autoconf manual. (I.e. datarootdir would always be
empty, and datadir wouldn't get defined in terms of it.)
