hexl.el -- just type hex

Dear Xemacs-Patches, dear Keith, attached you will find three patches against the version of hexl.el of the Xemacs package "text-modes" version 1.84, so it does not apply cleanly to the GNU Emacs version ... =as-you-type.patch Adds as-you-type hex-input, i.e. when in the ASCII columns you will enter in ASCII and when in the HEX columns you will enter hex. You may easily switch between the two columns by TAB. =follow-hex.patch Modifies the extent highlighting the corresponding ASCII position to also highlight the corresponding HEX position. And it also adds the current hex-address to the modeline. =Changlog.patch for the ChangeLog of the xemacs package. Cheers Robert
