Those functions have not changed in a long time AFAIK, and if there is
some bug in the hand-written parser(s), it's pretty likely that
somebody depends on it.
Yes, I am reasonably sure it doesn’t. Dave Gillespie’s code in general is
excellent, though the social constraints he was working under mean this is
sometimes difficult to appreciate. Also, GNU includes its own versions of
dolist and dotimes in subr.el, with the same semantics but a slightly
different implementation, so that would have helped in flushing out any bugs
in much of the code that uses it.
