I think that "Don't use this" is vague. If directed at easy-menu
programmers, there are two plausible meanings: (1) This interface is a
special-purpose kludge and will go away, your code will die when the
API gets removed, and (2) This interface is a special-purpose kludge
and dangerous, your XEmacs will die when your code gets run.
If this is a normal and reasonable part of easy-menu implementation, I
suggest "Reserved for internal use by `easy-menu'" instead.
I think I’ll remove it entirely for the 21.5 commit. It is for intended the
use of easy-menu.el only, but that would be clear from a more exact
docstring. The existing “don’t use this” in 21.4 won’t do any harm.
