Mode line offset from mouse pointer

Hi, I don't know if this has been reported already because this "feature" exists since quite a while so please excuse me if I'm just repeating known problems. Clicking on the mode line and starting dragging, the mode line "jumps" off the mouse and therefore causes an vertical positive offset between mode line and mouse pointer that has approx. the size of the tabs. After disabling the tabs via "Options->Gutters->Buffers Tab Visible" the problem still exists. XEmacs 21.1.9, however, behaves correctly so I guess this is not intentionally meant to be a correct behaviour.
