If there's overwhelming demand, maybe. But a ~65-character subject
line is already a constraint; such tags would cost at least 15%, and
more likely 20-25% (since there are multiple lists, it seems unlikely
that just "[xemacs]" gives enough information) of that very limited
space. I don't like this idea.
We already have a List-Id header that you can use to filter the emails into separate folders, or cause the subject to be locally munged.
I vote -1 on adding such tags to the subject line.
