off-by-one pixel selection redrawing glitch in version 21.5.27 and earlier

Hi all, since the addition of Xft, anti-aliased, font rendering to xemacs-beta (which I quite appreciate, many thanks!) I experience an off-by-one selection redrawing glitch, like in this screenshot just taken today: http://people.exactcode.de/~rene/xemacs-beta-xft-off-by-one.png So far I lived with it in the hope this would eventually get fixed, but as this bug exists for over a year or so I decided to drop a mail. This happens on all of our systems, from i686 over sparc64 to x86-64 with various aged versions of freetype and Xft.
