Needing an updated easymenu.el and generic.el

Hello. The SML-MODE for Emacs ftp://rum.cs.yale.edu/pub/monnier/sml-mode/sml-mode-3.9.4.tar.gz uses two functions from easymenu.el that is not present in the version distributed with XEmacs: easy-menu-filter-return easy-menu-create-menu I checked that the easymenu.el file that comes GNU Emacs is newer than the one from XEmacs and has the above functions. Can I replace XEmacs easymenu.el with the one from GNU Emacs without any surprises? Or does it have to be modified before? Would someone update this file in the distribution? Also SML-MODE uses the generic.el file from GNU Emacs. XEmacs does not distribute this file. Could it be added to the collection of packages distributed with XEmacs? Thanks.
