I don't recall seeing that particular message (it certainly wasn't a
long thread!), but *I* find the lack of communication around our release
plans confusing, and I'm supposed to be co-ordinating the 21.1 series!
I've been assuming that 21.0 was not yet official, because:
- the Splash screen still has a big red "BETA VERSION" stamped
across it
- --enable-debugging is still on by default
- we still need a mini-how-to which says how to build from the
minimal package set (or from SUMO). I would assume this would
go along with whatever official announcement goes out to
comp.emacs.xemacs (or did I miss that, too).
- has there been a 21.1 branch created in the CVS archive? was
there an announcement of that to xemacs-beta?
Granted that the packaging system is still immature, but I think 21.0
is stable enough to merit binary kits, so I disagree with what Jason
wrote here:
