Sometime ago, I mentioned getting an updated version of eldoc into
xemacs. As mentioned then, the next to latest version which is
GPLv2 compatible can be used. I've been using this version
unchanged with xemacs for some time now.
What do I need to do to get it into xemacs?
I'd like to suggest taking over the relevant package, but I don't
think we can dodge responsibility for xemacs-devel. You could apply
for XEmacs Review Board. I wouldn't mind having another half-active
developer around. :-)
(1) Post a feature request to the tracker where (unlike my INBOX, and
most people's) it won't get lost. Make sure there's an easy URL
(a relative reference in a GNU Emacs tree will do, don't forget to
say which version) to get the file.
(2) Bump its priority to urgent. (If you can't do that, email me
personally and I'll give you the needed privilege. But I think
it's on the honor system, any registered user can bump priority.)
(3) Keep bugging us on xemacs-beta. (Sorry 'bout that, but you know
how it is with us volunteers. :-( )
